"If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy,
the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."
- C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Recreating costumes and garments from familiar films and TV shows has become part of life for Katie (also known as HothGirl) over the past few years. Katie resides in a small town in western New York and holds a Bachelors of Fine Art from Houghton College, with concentrations in both drawing and ceramics. While still loves to draw and sketch from time to time, her ability is limited. After a gentle nudge from her Mom (and a used sewing machine!), sewing has become her creative outlet.

Katie's skills have not been limited to sewing, though. Her need to become a well-rounded costumer has led her to create some fantastic props, masks, and costume accessories employing the use of fiberglass resin, wood, metal, resin, and various forms of plastic.

Always wishing to broaden her skills, Katie is currently enrolled in a class focusing on Dressmaking and Design. By engaging in this and other aspects of sewing, she is eager to expand her horizons and make her way in the universe.
